Influencer Self Assessment
With this self-assessment you will examine which methods of influencing you use to tackle challenging and persistent problems. To begin with, we would like to ask you to think of a problem that you are currently working on, but have not yet been able to solve. When selecting a problem, don’t choose a situation that just requires you to persuade someone to make a different choice. Rather, choose a situation that requires people to change routine behavior patterns that are perpetuated by a variety of factors. For example:
• “Provide a budget for a new IT investment” is a challenge that requires conviction.
• “Make significant improvements in the percentage of IT projects we deliver on time” is a challenge that requires influence.
So pick a challenge that requires influence and that you’ve been working on for a while and answer the questions of the self-analysis while thinking about that challenge.
Use the ‘paper’ version of the self-analysis by filling in the form or use our interactive tool via this link (recommended).
